Emergency First Aid at Work L3 (EFAW)

Service Description

Suitable course for individuals or small businesses that work in a low level risk environment and wish to stay compliant with First Aid at Work Regulations 1981. No pre-requisite knowledge required as this covers the basics of First Aid. All learners will gain the skills and knowledge to provide their organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. Duration The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a minimum of six (6) contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities,. This course is normally completed in one day but if needed we can split this course providing it is completed within 3 weeks from the start date and each session is of at least 2 hours. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered during this Emergency First Aid at Work, including: Responsibilities & Reporting Minor injuries, Assessment of the situation, Bleeding control, Dealing with an unresponsive casualty, Burns, Basic Hygiene in First Aid, Choking, Resuscitation & AED, Epilepsy, Anatomy, Shock Certification Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper at the end of the day. A three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. Location We are able to deliver this course on your site not just in and around Swansea but across the UK, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling or we can arrange for you to attend one of our training locations. Qualification title: RQF Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work Unit 1 Title: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all learners must be a minimum of 14 years of age although they can not be classed as a First Aider until they are 16 years of age.
